Sola and I have come a long way together, first in the Christian Fellowship Group (CFG) at LUTH while he was a medical student, and I was a junior doctor. Later, he went to UCH Ibadan for specialization, and I to the University of Ilorin as lecturer. Then he joined me at Ilorin as lecturer, and we had many wonderful years together. We were jointly building up the young department of Haematology, until circumstances took him to Olabisi Onabanjo University, Sagamu..
We have continued to work together till date, on the professional forum of the NSHBT, and the Africa Society for Blood Transfusion (AfSBT)of which he recently took over from me the Chairmanship of the ECOWAS Region. Sola has been a worthy brother to me in thespiritual dimension as well. I salute his dogged adherence to principles, even when it hurts.
And when such principles are consistent with faith in Christ, and with love for God and man, of which Sola is richly endowed, things always turn out right. I wish, and pray for him for a blissful retirement, and long life with good health, while being surrounded by a happy family.
Prof Banji Adewuyi, Ilorin
